SUSTAINABLE ARGENTINA INDUSTRY: SFC's cooperation with UIA - Industrial Union of Argentina to support low-carbon production kicks off

"Industrias Argentinas Sustentables: development and application of programmes and tools for product sustainability and low-carbon economy in Argentinean MSMEs" is the initiative set up by the Industrial Union of Argentina and in which SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria participates as the only European partner.
The collaboration between UIA and SFC boosts the overall objective of promoting collaboration between European and Latin American countries in the framework of the EU AL-INVEST Verde programme to foster the exchange of good practices on green transition, aimed at lowering carbon emission levels and making efficient use of resources.
The previous experiences of Confindustria and SFC on the topics of Industrial Symbiosis, Circular Economy, and Green skills have been developed with the contribution of national and European fundings. Now, the reached results will contribute to increasing the know-how of the UIA staff and to designing new services for companies to enhance the use of self-diagnostic tools for sustainable development.
The staff of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Argentina will also be among the direct recipients of the actions that, together with the UIA and COPAL, SFC will contribute to implementing in order to increase the performance in European markets of Argentine products.
The European regulatory update to the "Green Deal Industrial Plan" will be preliminary to outline a common scenario of action and define a roadmap of sustainable economic development between Argentina and Italy.
Specific objectives of the project include:
- Sharing, in view of their replicability, best practices and experiences of transition of production systems towards zero emission standards, starting from cases in Italy and Europe and referring to different production sectors
- Provision of technical assistance for the elaboration of an implementation plan of best practices for production adaptation, including the identification of appropriate technologies to be incorporated into production processes
- Prototyping services for the green transition that enable their scalability in time
- Coordination of public and private instruments to guarantee social, gender, and youth inclusion as a fundamental part of the green transition strategy
- Strengthening the technical skills of the staff of business organisations
Among the results, increased knowledge of the potential of European markets for Argentina's green products will be achieved. In addition, the training and specialisation plan for MPMIs on the topic of low-carbon production and economic sustainability will be implemented. In addition, technical assistance activities will refer to certification for SME sustainability, forms of collaboration between Argentinean and European companies.
The project products will be made public and disseminated through the institutional channels of each participating partner and the project website, soon to be published.
