The mobility, transportation, and automotive ecosystem emerge as a key sector driving the transformation of the European economy towards a green and digital model. Encompassing the automotive and mobility industry, this complex landscape plays a crucial role in the European context.

The "Fit for 55" package underscores the sector's priority in achieving climate neutrality by 2050, emphasizing the crucial role of electric mobility and hydrogen in this transition. Digital transformation, aligned with the EU's Digital Agenda, presents new challenges for businesses by integrating IT applications into production and sales processes, thereby facilitating the green transition.

Amidst this notable change, the Training Excellence Center TRIREME is established, coordinated by the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) and implemented by a consortium of 32 partners across 15 countries.

The Training Excellence Center aims to support partnerships between businesses, research centers, and training institutions to guide developments in the automotive and sustainable mobility sector within the Skills Pact, a flagship action supporting the European Skills Agenda. TRIREME seeks to:

• Requalify and update the Green and Digital skills framework of workers.
• Foster dialogue among sector partners and stakeholders.
• Define specific plans for requalification, skills updating, and training of workers in the EU automotive sector.

FOCUS DEL PROGETTO:

The TRIREME Training Excellence Center envisions interventions to support the development of the automotive and mobility sectors based on four drivers:

1. Observatory on Sectoral Skills:

a. Digitalization (digital services and connectivity, digital twins and simulation, VR and AR, autonomous driving, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0),

b. Green, sustainability, and circular economy (electromobility, circular economy, alternative fuels and propulsion),

c. Resilience of value chains (logistics, resilience of materials and software, repair and maintenance, production, design and development, quality and testing),

d. New business models (Mobility as a service, Tires as a service, Maintenance as a service, Customer preferences and services),

e. Challenges and educational needs (Flexibility of the training and certification system; co-design of skills between Education and Work actors),

f. Additional areas of emerging interest will be added.

2. Development and Update of Sectoral Skills Strategy:

In relation to new and emerging professional profiles for the entire sector, a skills roadmap will be defined, covering skills, requalification, and professional updating. The agenda will aim for skill advancement with a defined strategy regarding future scenarios, including recommendations and key actions for the industrial and educational sectors.

3. Update of Existing Curricula:

The current training offerings of the partnership will be analyzed and updated to facilitate a responsive response within the first year of the project. Modular training and development modules based on Observatory information will be developed to fully/partially address the needs identified in defined professional profiles and roles. The courses will be delivered mainly through MOOCs, in-person, and utilizing VR and AR.

4. Regional Roll-out:

European regions actively implementing up/re-skilling projects in the mobility ecosystem will be engaged in developing new work plans and projects for the execution of sectoral improvement and requalification.
