The MATES project at the Compraverde Buygreen 2020 Forum

"For a fairer and more sustainable economy" is the slogan that anticipates the fourteenth edition of the Forum CompraVerde Buygreen 2020 to be held on 8th and 9th October at WEGIL in Rome (Largo Ascianghi, 5 - Trastevere area). This year the event will be presented in a digital and even more environmentally friendly way, through a platform that will allow the use of the event with the same features and contents, but with the enhancement of participation, communication and networking.

The event will be dedicated to policies, projects and actions of Green Public Procurement, but also to the Green New Deal and the Recovery Fund, to policies for sustainable food, from producer to consumer and to those related to Gender Procurement in public procurement to reduce gender inequalities.  They will also talk about sustainable finance, Made Green in Italy and cultural events with low environmental impact, ecological conversion of purchases and sustainable goods and services.

In this framework one of the conferences (also available online) will be dedicated the Project MATES - Manager for Sustainable Transition, funded by Fondirigenti and dedicated to the theme of "Managerial skills for sustainability". Friday, October 9 from 15.00 to 16.30 will be presented the objectives and activities planned under the project MATES, which fit well with the focus of the Forum Compraverde, as they are directed to deepen the theme of managerial skills needed for companies that want to focus on sustainability. In particular, the availability of these skills in the labour market and the availability of training courses that develop them, both at university level and in the training and updating of managers.

In the slot dedicated to MATES, will speak:

  • Carlo Poledrini, President Fondirigenti;
  • Mario Cardoni, Director Federmanager (tbc);
  • Marco Frey, Professor of Economics and Business Management, Director of the research group on sustainability at the Scuola Sant'Anna and Chairman of the Symbola Scientific Committee;
  • Carlo Maria Medaglia, Researcher at Link Campus University;
  • Vincenzo Accurso, Chief Operating Officer, NextChem (Maire Tecnimont Group).

The works will be coordinated by Giorgio Galotti from Fondazione Ecosistemi, promoter of the Forum (representing the ATI project coordinated by the leader SFC -Sistemi Formativi Confindustria and in partnership with Ecole).

The event will not only be an opportunity to assess the state of the art in the field of green procurement, but also the place where collective actors will present ideas and tools for the right ecological transition, able to face the current environmental and climate challenges.
