The reintegration of workers into the job market, especially those placed in mobility (laid off), is a process that demands continuous and flexible updating of professional skills.

The Training for the Job educational plan, resulting from an agreement among the social partners involved in the mobility procedure carried out by the companies CLAI Siracusana srl and SMAI srl, addresses this need by training workers with professionalism capable of combining high levels of specialization with creativity, and, above all, with versatility.

The activities of the plan have been designed based on the skills demand expressed by companies in the metalworking sector.

The training activities of Training for the Job aim to:

• Update and enhance the skills of workers in the field of maintenance and installation of industrial plants.
• Diversify skills and acquire new qualifications.
• Promote adaptability to the needs of the continuously evolving provincial and regional production context.
• Strengthen the ability to work in dynamic and flexible business environments.
• Reduce the risk of permanent labor market exit for workers with high risk factors.

The training activities are divided into three areas corresponding to the typical division of professional roles in metalworking companies:

• Operational area
• Technical area
• Administrative area

The project involved the activation of 30 courses, each lasting 60 hours, for a total of 1,800 hours of training.
