SFC is part of the partnership in the TOURISME project - "Improving sustainability of tourism SMEs through knowledge transfer, international cooperation, and multistakeholder engagement." This project is funded under the COSME program - Call COS-TOURCOOP-2019-3-01 "Boosting Sustainable Tourism Development and Capacity of Tourism SMEs through Transnational Cooperation and Knowledge Transfer."
The focus of the project is to enhance the competitive advantages for SMEs in the tourism sector that adopt sustainable management practices, leading to cost reduction and improved service quality.
To achieve sustainability and improve competitiveness, TOURISME aims to promote the capabilities and skills of SMEs to explore and adopt solutions through strengthened transnational and cross-sector collaboration among tourism SMEs and operators from different sectors in Spain, Italy, France, and Cyprus.
The project's target companies are SMEs in the tourism industry, including coastal, natural, cultural tourism, and tourism related to public events (sports, festivals, etc.).
Specifically, TOURISME pursues the following objectives:

Design and implement a transnational and cross-sectoral support scheme, including capacity development, knowledge transfer, and scaling-up activities to enable sustainable growth of SMEs in the tourism sector.

Support the adoption of innovative solutions for sustainable tourism.

Support SME participation in certification schemes.
The project provides direct support to businesses by involving a target of 70 SMEs, including 20 in Italy. These businesses will receive Training and Technical Assistance services for implementing sustainable management measures.
