"Mastery - Micro-credentials Reliability Unleashing Green Economy" is an initiative funded under the Erasmus+ Program in the "Forward Looking Project" action, primarily targeting vocational training institutions. These institutions, along with businesses, universities, and research centers engaged in the Green Transition, as well as public administrations, consider Circular Economy a priority for the development of territories and communities. Led by SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, the partnership involves partners from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Finland, with the common goal of promoting collaboration between vocational training and industry for innovation in the validation of green skills and the transferability of micro-qualifications as a crucial element to steer vocational training systems towards the future green economy.
To support this process, MASTERY focuses on the following objectives:
- Develop micro-credentials approaches to enhance lifelong learning opportunities.
- Launch pilot actions to test field solutions, supporting business projects involved in the requalification and updating of skill frameworks.
- Through a participatory decision-making process, formulate a policy brief, followed by a summary document providing guidance and recommendations to government policymakers and other stakeholders, aiming to establish a micro-credentials system accelerating the adaptation and development of skills enabling the transition of productive systems towards circular economy criteria.
The MASTERY methodology for micro-credentials development will serve as the starting point to create 12 micro-qualifications related to various green skills in the Construction, Wood, Agri-food, and Manufacturing sectors, incorporating Sustainability Management skills.
The outcomes of MASTERY will have impacts on all involved stakeholders:
- For businesses, using micro-credentials as tools to organize training in a more accessible, flexible, and consistent manner with European quality standards and supporting the search for green skills.
- For individuals, including workers and young students, offering development opportunities and resumption of studies and training paths for better working conditions and social inclusion.
- For vocational training institutions, implementing digital and green innovation in the professional training ecosystem.
- For public administration.
The project's target objectives include:
- 150 Companies, 180 Training Institutions, 120 Students, 60 Policy makers involved in awareness and information actions on micro-credentials and career development potential.
- 13 MASTERY experiments, 90 MASTERY micro-credentials issued.
- 30 Companies, 30 Training Institutions, 9 Universities and Competence Centers, 15 policymakers, 9 business development support entities supported in the application of recommendations for the definition of micro-credentials.
- 200 participants in the definition of sustainability plans, 200 entities involved in sustainability networks formed on the MASTERY methodology for the development of micro-credentials for green skills.
The project has a three-year duration, from January 2024 to December 2026, and is managed by SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria.
