To remain competitive in international tourism scenarios and enhance the appeal of the Italian tourism system, it is essential to promote a holistic vision of the tourism system and foster a business culture that is conscious of the ongoing changes in the industry.
The S.I.CO.TUR. training program aims to overcome the inherent fragmentation within the tourism sector, which hinders the ability to present the "Italian tourism product" with a recognized standard of quality on the global market.
The training initiatives proposed by the program are developed in collaboration with the beneficiary companies and focus on the following areas:
-
Environment, Safety, and Organizational Innovation: To create awareness of environmental and economic sustainability through innovative management techniques.
-
Organizational Development: To enhance the professional skills of individuals involved in the management, promotion, and enhancement of the territory.
-
Technical and Professional Skills: To improve production processes and company performance in relation to the target market.
Furthermore, the project aims to encourage a global perspective of the tourism system, promote a business culture with a long-term vision, and provide the most suitable tools to facilitate consistent growth and competitive development. This is all done while acknowledging the constant changes within the industry.
The project involved 94 beneficiaries, including travel agencies, resorts, hotels, tour operators, and 20 Confindustria Territorial Associations. These beneficiaries were distributed across various regions in Italy, including Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lazio, Campania, Sardinia, Sicily, Apulia, Liguria, Marche, and Basilicata.
A total of 4,850 training hours were delivered, involving 1,073 workers in the program.
