The GreenEdils Plan aims to address the needs of the construction sector, particularly the companies benefiting from the plan, to have access to business functions and qualified workforce to support the emergence of a new cycle in construction oriented towards:
- Renovating the available building stock, pushing for both regular and extraordinary maintenance of buildings towards continuous improvement of environmental performance systems.
- Promoting energy savings through the use of renewable sources and the implementation of energy efficiency systems in construction.
- Promoting knowledge and application of quality systems and standards, process, product, and system certifications.
- Accelerating the process of updating and adapting local production systems to the nearly zero-energy building (NZEB) model, a mandatory and stringent reference standard starting in 2020.
The training package outlined in the GreenEdils Plan allows a group of mostly small and medium-sized enterprises to enhance the skills and knowledge profiles of their human resources in emerging thematic areas that will underpin the recovery and operations of the construction sector in the coming years. The overall objective of GreenEdils is, therefore, to improve the skill profiles of both young and older workers in the sector to support the development of innovative and sustainable construction, strongly committed to achieving environmental compatibility standards.
