BBS - Behaviour Based Safety

Fondimpresa - Notice 1/2008

The methodological approach based on Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) addresses workplace safety by identifying critical moments to monitor within a company's main management processes.

The activities in the BBS training plan are designed to help employees develop the ability to correctly identify hazards, make consistent decisions, and communicate effectively with relevant parties.

The BBS methodology employs methods and techniques from Organizational Behavior Management, derived from behavioral sciences and focused on the principle of "safe behaviors." Behavioral training involves structured communication with individuals working in key processes within the company, which impact workplace safety, and promotes the adoption of safe behaviors in everyday work.

The objectives of the training plan include:

  1. Strengthening the role of "key company figures" in safety by enhancing their skills and professional development.
  2. Enhancing the knowledge and behaviors related to Health and Safety at Work (SSL) to optimize and streamline key processes.
  3. Developing a safety culture and promoting best practices for risk prevention and reduction with contributions from experienced instructors in SSL.
  4. Promoting funded training through Fondimpresa by disseminating the adopted methodologies and the achieved results.
