INSIGHT Project presented at ERSCP conference in Austria

The paper produced by the INSIGHT project team was presented in Graz at the 20th ERSCP - European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production. The meeting started the stakeholder consultation work to define the INSIGHT blueprint to support Industrial Symbiosis.

The 2021 edition of the ERSCP developed several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, including Goal 12 'Responsible Consumption and Production' and Goal 4 'Quality of Education'. In this scenery, Erasmus Plus "INSIGHT - Fostering Industrial Symbiosis through the development of a novel and innovative training approach" presented the first results.

With the paper entitled "Facilitating Industrial Symbiosis", the INSIGHT project consortium relaunched the importance of industrial symbiosis (IS) as a possible lever to accelerate the transition towards circular economy. In fact, IS creates new 'waste-as-resource' business models in order to reduce waste and promote cross-sector collaborations, create markets for raw materials derived from production.

Industrial Symbiosis thus becomes a mean of support for Green Economy, offering a model that focuses on maintaining added value in products for as long as possible and, at the same time, eliminating waste.
