On September 14th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, as part of the training activities scheduled by the Distico Project, a webinar on the "Regional SME Report 2021" will take place. The webinar will focus on "Southern and Northern Italy SMEs: Resilience and Prospects for Recovery."
This webinar has been organized in collaboration with the "Territorial Cohesion and Infrastructure Confindustria Area" and will feature the Director of the Area, Mr. Giuseppe Mele, and the Chief Economist of Cerved, Mr. Guido Romano, as speakers. It will be an exclusive closed-door event for the participants of the Distico Project. The event will provide an opportunity to present the report and engage in a discussion with the speakers, focusing primarily on the analysis of SMEs' performance and the impact of the pandemic on them, emergency and recovery measures, and the strategies and policies implemented by Confindustria.
The "Regional SME Report 2021," developed by Confindustria and Cerved with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, analyzes the economic and financial performance of around 160,000 Italian capital companies on a regional basis. These companies, employing between 10 and 249 employees and with a turnover ranging from 2 to 50 million euros, fall under the European definition of SMEs. They represent the most dynamic part of the national production system, with a widespread presence throughout the country and a total value-added of approximately 230 billion euros. The study examines the "classic" dynamics of SMEs, from demography to credit risk, while also providing a new perspective on the unprecedented crisis caused by the pandemic in terms of employment and capital.
Moreover, the report includes a useful analysis of the support measures adopted for SMEs and a series of policy proposals to strengthen the competitiveness of the production system.
