Widespread connectivity and the increasing availability of objects and sensors capable of accessing the internet and exchanging data with each other are helping to widen the possible cyber attack area of businesses.
To effectively tackle this process and promote a secure digital transition, Confindustria, Generali and the National Cybersecurity Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 19 October 2022 to spread the culture of digital protection among businesses and help raise the threshold of attention and awareness of our SMEs on the phenomenon of cybersecurity.
The agreement envisages a Report 'Cyber Index SME' being developed, with the contribution of the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, to highlight the level of knowledge of cyber risks within business organisations and the relative approaches adopted by companies to manage these risks.
The Report represents the first step in the future Italian Cyber Index, the national index that will feed the European Cyber Index, as envisaged by the National Cybersecurity Strategy.
The "Cyber Index SME" will be based on the answers provided by the companies of the Association System following the completion of a questionnaire, in order to return to the country a report on the state of "Cyber security" of our companies that highlights the level of awareness of the risks as well as the current measures put in place to combat the phenomenon.
