The fifth edition of the Global Industrie exhibition took place from 7 to 10 March in Lyon, where the Interprofessionnelle Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes coordinator of DIGITRONICS is based. The exhibition featured both an in-person and online programme with thematic highlights such as conferences, debates, and meetings to support the networking of industry professionals. There were also award ceremonies, workshops and stands of various Industry 4.0 players presenting their technologies. Organised in various sections (Mechatronics, Start-ups, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, Energy and more), the exhibitions managed to touch all areas of Industry 4.0.
For the past five years, Global Industrie has positioned itself as 'one of the first global exhibitions dedicated to Industry'. With participants from 85 countries and the organisation under the high patronage of the President of France Emmanuel Macron, you can expect to see companies and exhibitors from all over the world, as well as elected officials and some of Europe's leading industrial professional organisations.
Global Industrie boasts four important takeaways from the event:
- The opportunity to demonstrate a unique and global technology offering;
- The support and strategic interest of the initiative, internationally supported by some of the key players in Industry 4.0 and of relevance to the presidential level of the Head of State;
- A look at current and future innovation;
- The opportunity for networking between innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, elected officials, professional organisations, and more, to push European industrial innovation to the next level.
This year's event also took the opportunity of International Women's Day to give professional women in industry the chance to speak and share ideas to increase the attractiveness of the sector to women, improve career paths and support them during their professional development. Associations such as Les Meufs de l'Industrie (Women of Industry) and Elles Bougent were present and shared their experiences, expertise, and ideas to support greater gender equality in the industry.
This event is in line with some of the main objectives of the DIGITRONICS project:
- Identify and initiate training on emerging skills for Industry 4.0 professionals;
- Collaborate and share ideas with a diversity of actors (higher education institutions, policymakers, entrepreneurs, companies) to advance European industry.
DIGITRONICS partners encourage teaching and training in mechatronics and Industry 4.0 innovatively, while promoting the promises of Industry 4.0 and lifelong learning for mechatronics professionals, teachers, and trainers.
