In the context of the European Year of Skills, the event organized by INAPP - National Institute for Public Policy Analysis in collaboration with Confindustria and SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria on October 26th, marked a significant step forward in reflecting on the challenges of businesses' skills needs. The focus was on the key role of the Erasmus+ Program in addressing these needs.
SFC played a prominent role, being invited by INAPP to present the "Deal with Digital work-based learning" project. The Erasmus KA2 project, conceived as an emerging practice of shared design between Business and Education, aims to develop the skills of VET (Vocational Education and Training) trainers to integrate innovative and digital practices into learning-based training. Paola Previdi, CEO of SFC, emphasized that the use of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) tools can and should become an integral part of educational design. This approach anticipates the increasing digitalization of corporate workplaces, enhances the preparation of young people, and adapts workers' digital skills.
The event was opened by the Director General of INAPP, Santo Darko Grillo, who highlighted the catalyzing effect of the Erasmus+ Program on the innovation of educational systems. Ismene Tramontano, Director of the National Agency Erasmus+ INAPP, emphasized the extensive scope of initiatives funded for research and innovation in educational systems, extending to all formal, non-formal, and informal training contexts.
Alfonso Balsamo, representing the Education Area of Confindustria, conveyed a key message: the company is not the endpoint of education but an active partner in curriculum innovation, supported by the Erasmus+ Program.
Anna Barbieri, Team Leader for Apprenticeships and Erasmus+ at the European Commission, reiterated the importance of operating at the local and national levels to develop and innovate education aligned with European development policies. Erasmus+ mobilities are now extended to trainers in professional training systems, with increasing dedicated funding.
The event presented various experiences on key themes, including "Erasmus+ to enhance the attractiveness of the territory" and "Individual mobility for learning purposes in the VET sector." Spaces were specifically dedicated to "Digital work-based learning" and other projects.
The partnership led by SFC for "Deal with Digital work-based learning" is continuing the development of an e-learning platform, with the release expected in February 2024. Teachers, trainers, and VET system tutors are invited to contribute by becoming Ambassadors of the project and contacting the nearest local partner.
