On November 8th, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, the first online meeting dedicated to stakeholders in the Construction ecosystem in Italy will take place. The aim is to share a methodological proposal for the design, delivery, and certification of emerging skills in the sector.
The construction sector is indeed one of the pillars of the European economy and is at the forefront of the transition to a more sustainable future. Currently, construction workers represent about 4% of all jobs in the EU, and their training in new technologies and the characteristics of innovative and sustainable materials is crucial to support their employment in the sector, while also contributing to achieving the goals of the European Green Deal.
To tackle the challenges of this transformation, it is essential to innovate European training systems and validate new methodologies such as those developed by the BuildSkills Academy, a Center of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) dedicated to "Transitional Skills" in the sector.
In Italy, CENTOFORM and ITS TEC—already active in innovating pathways dedicated to the green transition in Construction by managing courses like Build Liveable Urban Environment and Waste Management, Energy & Environment—are partners of SFC in the initial trials of this methodology.
The meeting on November 8th is open to anyone interested in learning about the new methodology "Build Enriched Skills" (BESM) and aims to share a step-by-step approach to enrich training courses in order to integrate the European quality training criteria (EQAVET) and bottom-up design systems (Feedback loop) for the development of skills necessary to address new technologies and sustainable practices in green building.
