Save the date: April 2. A new training programme by BuildSkills Academy, the European centre of excellence dedicated to reshaping skills in the construction sector, is about to launch in Bologna.
This Italian pilot is led by SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, in collaboration with ITS TEC, a leading provider of higher technical education in Emilia-Romagna, and with the contribution of CENTOFORM.
But there’s more. This initiative is building a true skills innovation ecosystem for the building sector, bringing together key players from education, research, and industry. Alongside partners already involved at transnational level within the BSA consortium, strong local collaboration is taking shape with UNIFE – University of Ferrara, the TekneHub Laboratory of the Technopole Network (Department of Architecture, University of Ferrara), and companies that will host ITS TEC students for internships.
An integrated and forward-looking system, designed to seize opportunities for innovation and skills development at a European level.
Following the success of the “Build Liveable Urban Environment” programme concluded in March, a new challenge begins: “Smart, Resilient & Circular Cities.”
Twenty participants will take part in 40 hours of in-person training, combining interactive lectures and hands-on workshops.
The programme is based on the BESM – Build Enriched Skills Methodology, developed within the BSA project, and is integrated into the EQF Level 5 qualification awarded by ITS TEC. It offers a strong blend of theory and practice, aimed at preparing professionals to face ongoing transformation.
What will participants gain?
Immediately applicable skills, including:
• designing nearly zero-energy buildings
• applying circular economy principles
• using IoT and BIM technologies
• conducting Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
• developing urban resilience strategies to address climate change
In a construction sector increasingly driven by green and digital transitions, these skills are no longer optional—they are essential.
