BuildSkills Academy lands in Italy: Build Liveable Urban Environment pilot completed

From January to March 2026, SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria in cooperation with ITS TEC Ferrara and CENTOFORM, delivered the first Italian edition of Build Liveable Urban Environment, a new module within the BuildSkills Academy Center of Vocational Excellence dedicated to sustainable urban development and green building secotr.
Twenty young learners aged 18–25 completed 40 hours of intensive in-person training on green transition, climate adaptation, smart technologies, and circular economy in the built environment. The course was designed and delivered by professors and researchers from the University of Ferrara, combining theoretical frameworks with hands-on workshops and real-world case studies.
Participants gained concrete, market-ready competencies: energy-efficient building design, Life Cycle Assessment, IoT integration for smart building management, nature-based urban solutions, GIS and BIM tools, and integrated urban resilience strategies — skills that sit at the heart of Europe's construction transformation.
This pilot is just the beginning. The curriculum will be replicated across Europe through the BSA network and is freely available to VET institutions and training providers, at no cost to the end learner, thanks to the BSA project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
