The European wine sector is addressing a topic that remains largely unexplored: how widespread are discrimination, harassment and gender-based violence across the entire wine value chain?
Grapes of Change, a European project co-funded by the CERV – DG Justice programme, contributes to answering this question. The project brings together 14 organisations from 8 countries (Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary and Poland), with the aim of establishing a permanent Observatory on these phenomena in the wine sector.
As part of the project, a short 9-question survey has been launched, aimed at everyone working in or connected to the wine sector: producers, oenologists, winery and vineyard staff, sommeliers, bartenders, trade journalists, buyers and students. The aim is to collect concrete data on the prevalence of experiences of discrimination and harassment in the sector, as well as on awareness of the support services available.
Anonymity guaranteed: the survey is completely anonymous: no name, email address or other information that could identify an individual or a specific organisation is requested. Responses will be analysed only in aggregate form, and the results will be published exclusively as overall statistical data.
The questionnaire takes only a few minutes to complete. Some questions address sensitive personal experiences. You can stop completing the survey at any time, and a “Prefer not to answer” option is available for every question.
SFC – Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, the project coordinator, invites all professionals across the wine value chain to participate and contribute their experience, helping to build a solid knowledge base to make the sector safer, fairer and more inclusive.
