Management coaching for digital innovation hubs

The Confindustria’s network of the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) is a strategic solution to boost innovation in the production system as well as to strengthen knowledge and awareness on opportunities offered by digitalisation, which is the key for the access in Industry 4.0 framework.

Even though many companies are facing the Industry 4.0 development, SMEs are lagging behind in the challenge for innovation.

The emerging DIH manager profile needs to be trained in specific technical and managerial skills, in order to provide expertise to SMEs on:

  1. 0 technologies and their use cases,

• Involvement and activation of innovation stakeholders (competence centres, universities, public and private research - centres, etc.) at local, national and international level,
• promotion of innovation and involvement of enterprises,
• collaboration agreements with the banking system for financing innovation 4.0,
• public-private collaboration in the management of support instruments for industrial
The AMa-DIH “Managerial coaching for DIH” project merges the implementation of active policies to the coaching requests coming from businesses willing to digitalise.

Furthermore, the AMa DIH initiative also meets an important social inclusion objective: to include in DIH qualified managers currently unemployed (identified in collaboration with 4.Manager and Federmanager Association), who have the right skills to support businesses during the digital maturity self-assessment and who are able to create roadmaps for the digital transition process.

The AMa DIH initiative offers:

  • a training and coaching program for Managers, about the use of 4.0 technologies, the legislative framework supporting the SMEs in Digital Innovation, the stakeholders for Innovation mapping (competence centres, universities, public and private research centre etc.).

The selected manager will collaborate with DIH in the area to engage and support SMEs which will benefit from their mentorship. This aims to:

  • Evaluate company’s digital maturity and enhance opportunities for diversification or/and evolution of the company’s business model
  • Design a digital development process
  • Identify advantageous funding sources and/or incentives for the digital growth.
