IABLE - Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and European Digital Innovation Hub - Managerial Competencies for Technology and Knowledge Transfer

IABLE is a research project dedicated to the topics of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and the new European Digital Innovation Hub. The initiative, promoted by Fondirigenti and carried out by SFC - Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, in partnership with Siav and Skillab, aims to transfer the skills necessary for accelerating innovation in companies to Innovation Managers, providing a clear and comprehensive vocabulary in three technological and organizational areas: Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and the European Digital Innovation Hub.

GOALS

The research revolves around three main directions:

  1. Promoting knowledge about the current state of digital investments and their applications in the industrial sector.
  2. Assessing the skills needed by corporate management in adopting these technologies, including in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
  3. Strengthening the expertise of innovation managers within existing DIHs (Digital Innovation Hubs) and future EDIHs (European Digital Innovation Hubs), particularly in their relationship with businesses.

ACTIONS

The IABLE project spans 12 months and consists of three specific research phases:

PHASE I.

Theoretical-Scientific and Applied Foresight:

  • A theoretical-scientific survey conducted in two stages: theoretical investigation and research in applied contexts.
  • Conducting two focus groups.

PHASE II.

Managing the Development of Managerial Competencies: Technology and Knowledge Transfer:

  • Designing and conducting a survey and three focus groups (three macro-regional webinars).
  • Investigating management training paths dedicated to AI and Blockchain solutions applicable to companies.
  • Identifying techniques and methodologies for Technology and Knowledge Transfer, culminating in the development of a functioning model.

PHASE III.

Collection of Significant Case Histories:

  • Identifying and reviewing 20 national business cases involving technological applications of AI, Blockchain, and their connections with EDIHs and Competence Centers.

RESULTS

The expected outcomes include:

  • Innovating and directing Fondirigenti's potential interventions for developing key managerial competencies in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
  • Promoting a cultural approach to the digital transformation of companies by strengthening collaboration with the innovation ecosystem.
  • Supporting the evolution of managerial development paths by focusing on fundamental knowledge for managing global companies and technological innovation.

Additionally, the project will engage in disseminating its results using digital technologies and social channels to reach a broader audience. At the end of the research activity, a final report will be produced, detailing the methodologies used and the results obtained, with an eye toward their measurability and transferability to the country's managerial population.

More than 30 years after the "number one," the first filling machine bearing Galdino Candiotto's signature, innovation has not ceased. The continuous effort to get closer to the end customer aligns with the strategic choice to invest in digital evolution, with a focus on IoT infrastructure. Machine System Health (MASH) and Through Your Eyes (TYE) are two real-time remote diagnostic services that transform maintenance from preventive to predictive, following the "augmented knowledge" paradigm. INFOFACTORY SRL

The Friulian web agency, stemming from Professor Carlo Tasso's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, brings Web Intelligence solutions to the market. This allows for the creation and application of digital transformation solutions for business processes and models. After monitoring the web (forums, blogs, social media, news, etc.), digital solutions are customized to capture user needs and design marketing strategies in the "Internet of Everything" perspective. https://infofactory.it/it/

To showcase the IABLE project, a short video has been created, outlining its objectives and research phases, while highlighting the best practices identified. The video features some of the managers involved in the project, allowing them to emphasize the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain on processes and business models.

To share the results of the research project on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, an e-Book has been created, containing technical and scientific information, managerial insights, and case studies demonstrating the usefulness of these innovative tools for business.

In conclusion, the results of the IABLE project demonstrate that the time is ripe to use Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain in industrial and service contexts. These technologies can bring innovations to both production and management, enabling companies to tackle the challenges of Industry 4.0.
