Seminars for Training on Participation in World Bank Procurement Bidding for the Supply of Goods

he projects funded by the World Bank move a total of 15-20 billion dollars annually

The World Bank-funded projects involve an average of around 80,000 contracts each year, with a total value of 15-20 billion dollars. These contracts are for goods and services dedicated to local development projects to be delivered worldwide for national governments. So far, only a few Italian companies have participated in World Bank tenders, even though these opportunities are within the reach of Italian companies.

Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, in close collaboration with Confindustria's Europe and Internationalization Area, views World Bank projects as a significant opportunity to boost the competitiveness of Italian companies. They propose an information and training tool for Confindustria member companies, primarily SMEs, with the aim of enabling these companies to evaluate their real potential to compete successfully in World Bank tenders and to understand the operational procedures for participating in them.

In collaboration with World Bank experts, a dedicated seminar has been designed for entrepreneurs and their key staff. The seminar structure includes an initial part focused on company orientation and self-assessment, where companies can evaluate their potential and identify available opportunities. The second part delves into technical and practical aspects of how to prepare a competitive and winning bid. The seminar's pragmatic and operational approach is supplemented by direct testimonials from Italian companies that have already participated and succeeded.

The working language of the seminar is predominantly English. The seminar is primarily aimed at decision-makers in Small and Medium Enterprises in the manufacturing sectors (entrepreneurs, CEOs, and general managers) and the individuals within the companies responsible for operational aspects of internationalization initiatives, particularly in relation to practical exercises. The participation of both these roles ensures the complete acquisition of both opportunity insights and the operational steps required to participate in tenders.

Associations and Federations interested in organizing the seminar for the benefit of their members can contact the initiative's coordinators:
