"INGENIOUS: Digital Skills Courses in Agriculture 4.0 Now Available"
A new milestone in the context of Erasmus projects involving SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria (Educational Systems Industrial Confederation) has been achieved, and thus, starting from the upcoming Thursday, January 26th, we will be sharing the project results in the welcoming setting of the 'Emilio Sereni' Technical Agricultural Institute in Rome.
"The program of the meeting, to which teachers of technical-scientific disciplines at the 'Emilio Sereni' Institute and students are invited to participate, envisions the sharing of results from the project led by the University of Ioannina - Laboratory Of Knowledge and Intelligent Computing (Greece), funded under the Erasmus Key Action 2 'Strategic Partnership in the field of VET - Vocational Education & Training.'
In the context of the dissemination of new technologies for Agriculture, including the use of Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and more generally, the digitalization of services to support producers and consumers, developing digital literacy among teachers is a strategic element to enable the updating of educational paths and ensure that students are adequately prepared to navigate current and future production scenarios.
The motivations that led SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria to work on INGENIOUS for the digital skills of agriculture course teachers arise precisely from the needs expressed by companies in the agri-food production and processing sector: digital and sustainable innovation of cultivation techniques, as well as business models in the sector, increasingly related to ensuring high-quality standards in terms of safety in production, logistics, and in support of informed consumer choices.
Together with Dr. Patrizia Marini, head of the 'Emilio Sereni' ITA, and Giovanni Beltrame, a teacher at the 'Emilio Sereni' ITA and the course author, the results of the INGENIOUS project and the methods for accessing teacher digital skills development courses will be presented. The focus will be on the 'Digital Competences Supporting Agriculture 4.0' course, available on the INGENIOUS platform."
