Webinar: Open Manager for an Open Organization

The rapidly changing socioeconomic landscapes have seen the convergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) and the sudden emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic. In this context, the perspective of Open Management has become an opportunity to rethink organizational structures and management styles with an "open" outlook. This entails continuous adaptation to environmental changes, harnessing new opportunities, and overcoming inevitable challenges. There is a growing need for a profound reevaluation of managerial culture, identifying innovative variations to mainstream management models, best practices, and ways to develop distinctive competencies for top-performing managers. From this perspective, the concept of Open Management may be the key to effectively interpreting and managing the new, increasingly "open" organizations that require Open Managers who can lead them.

An investigation conducted for Fondirigenti, as part of Strategic Initiatives, by CIS - Business Management School, Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, and Forma del tempo, through the "Open MooD - Open Manager for Open Organization" Project, has outlined the profile of a new managerial figure: the Open Manager. These Open Managers are capable of creating formal and informal networks both within and outside the organization. These networks are oriented towards research, innovation, and the creation of market perspectives, leveraging the complementarity between production processes, technological know-how, and human resources. This is crucial for achieving the systemic objectives that are, and increasingly will be, indispensable for managing today's and tomorrow's "open" organizations.

The results of this investigation will be presented through a webinar on Wednesday, March 10, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. During the webinar, you will have the opportunity to delve into:

  1. The 5 factors that characterize the "Open" management style, each consisting of 3-4 reference competencies.
  2. The assessment tool, specifically developed for self-evaluation of these factors, which, through the use of a specific algorithm, allows managers to be placed in one of the 17 identified profiles. It provides the respondent with a summary of their result, highlighting strengths and possible areas for improvement.
  3. The training model for developing Open Manager competencies based on the assessment outcome. This model must also have characteristics of "openness," moving away from traditional training models and focusing on the logic of the Flipped Classroom.

Please consult the program and register for the webinar for further information.
