In the training framework of Higher Technical Institutes in Italy, the presence of trainers from the corporate world represents a significant added value, thanks to the technical and professional skills and transversal, organisational behavioural competences they can share with students. However, to complete and keep up-to-date the educator's profile, it is important to think about specific training in the pedagogical and relational field.
This is the idea behind the Turn2Coach training program, developed by the working group of the Fondazione ITS Meccatronico del Lazio Academy and SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, thinking of training for professionals and teachers of corporate and school backgrounds that should not be limited to technical updating but should also include the acquisition of methodological and pedagogical tools to become complete educators able to meet the challenges of modern education.
Over the years, Turn2Coach has offered spaces for debate and discussion on the themes of the renewal of ITS didactics, emphasizing development drivers that are only apparently distant: Digital and Ethics
This year, the Turn2Coach program addresses the role of the mechatronics educator in the current automotive innovation scenario, focusing the debate on Social Capital and Networking.
SFC participates in Turn2Coach by bringing to common factor the most significant European experiences developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ program at the level of Automotive and Professional Development of the Mechatronics Educator.
This year, the results of the Erasmus+ projects that SFC will share are related to:
- TRIREME https://project-trireme.eu/ realised by a network of 31 partners from 14 countries, aiming to create a pan-European Automotive and Sustainable Mobility Academy, aimed at providing learning pathways for workers and managers in the system, and to build a network between training providers of excellence.
- DIGITAL WBL https://digitalwbl.com/ for the development of a framework of innovative and appropriate pedagogical approaches to support the digitisation of work-based learning experiences.
The date for the next Turn2Coach meeting is 9 September 2024, in the evocative setting of the Abbazia di Casamari in Veroli.
Speeches by the President of the ITS Mechatronic Foundation of Lazio Academy - Miriam Diurni - are scheduled to deepen the dynamics that connect the growth of people and businesses with the development of the territory.
Luca Sorrentino, lecturer at the University of Cassino and Lazio Meridionale and Chairman of the Scientific Technical Committee (STC) of the ITS Mechatronic Foundation of Lazio Academy, will present the possible future scenarios of the ITS, focusing on training excellence and technological specialisation.
The researchers involved in the European projects, Elisa Pagliaroli for the TRIREME project, and Vincenzo Vitiello expert in Cybersecurity and Ambassador of the Digital WBL project, will speak.
Paolo Marini, CEO of Tecnobus S.p.A., will share his experience to help define emerging skills in mechatronics and automotive and understand how the production chain evolves in response to new technologies.
Marco Vigini, founder of Bnet2connect and director of the Bnet-Young @Orienta youth welfare and orientation service, will address the topic of orientation and networking for young people, exploring the opportunities offered by these networks for the professional future
Finally, Vincenzo Vitiello will close the meeting presenting the new digital learning experiences based on the ‘Work-Based Learning’ (WBL) approach, illustrating the Digital WBL training pathway to guide educators in their pedagogical choices to support the inclusion of digital tools in learning paths.
Turn2Coach is a further example and testimony of how the SFC network can share opportunities for growth and comparison, adapting the results of European initiatives to the needs of territorial contexts and developing the internationalisation dimension that every training organisation must have in order to better prepare people for the completion of their growth path.
