It is with this vision that SFC Sistemi Formativi Confindustria expands its European horizon, officially joining the EAfA – European Alliance for Apprenticeships, the multi-stakeholder platform promoted by the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission.
This membership marks a strategic step forward: SFC becomes part of a European network bringing together governments, companies, social partners, chambers of commerce, vocational education and training providers and other key stakeholders, all sharing the common goal of strengthening the quality, supply and attractiveness of apprenticeship systems across Europe.

Why SFC joined the EAfA
SFC’s decision to join the EAfA stems from a strong conviction: we are living through a phase of structural transformations that are reshaping production systems and the labour market. Digital transition and resource efficiency, the adoption of strategic technologies, new organisational models and emerging skill needs are redefining the future of work.
In this context, training is called not only to accompany change, but to anticipate its trajectories, building shared responses at European level. Engaging with the experiences, needs and projects of other countries therefore becomes essential to broaden labour market perspectives and enhance the quality of training pathways.
By joining networks such as the EAfA, SFC actively contributes to this dialogue, sharing its expertise while enriching its own approach through a European and international perspective.
Dialogue with the consortium: from local territories to Europe and back
SFC joins the EAfA as a consortium, making available to the European Alliance the best practices developed at national level and the skills needs expressed by its members.
At the same time, membership opens up for all consortium members a window onto the European network, providing access to resources, tools, networking opportunities and best practices from across Europe.
This two-way approach – from local territories to Europe and from Europe back to local territories – represents added value both for the Confindustria System and for the EAfA, which can benefit from the experience, reach and in-depth knowledge of Italian production contexts developed by the SFC network.
Joining the EAfA further strengthens SFC’s positioning as a bridge between the business community and European policies on employment and training, confirming the consortium’s strategic role in innovating learning pathways and building the skills needed for today’s and tomorrow’s world of work.
